New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sent a team of experts from Delhi’s CFSL to conduct a psycho-analysis test on Sanjay Roy, the prime accused in the rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. Roy, a civic volunteer with the Kolkata Police, was arrested after the doctor’s body was found in the hospital’s seminar hall.

A trained boxer, Roy had befriended senior police officers, leading to his posting at the hospital’s police outpost. The CBI’s move aims to understand Roy’s mental state and motivations behind the brutal crime. The test will help investigators piece together the events and circumstances surrounding the heinous act.
