A huge mudslide at Dzüdza village under Sechü-Zubza has dispruted traffic along National Highway-29 between Kohima-Dimapur for the past few days.
Goods carrier trucks remain stranded along this stretch of Dzüdza and Sechü-Zubza as normal traffic has been disrupted due to mudslide.

Talking to media persons, an NHIDCL official informed that they have been trying their best to clear the road. “We are working throughout the night as well in two shifts,” the official said. He informed that 3 excavators, one loader and a number of dumper trucks have been put in place for the restoration work.
He informed that total clearance of the debris will take some time due to continuous mudslides. The official, however, said that they are trying their best to open the road for light vehicles.

Sechü -Zubza SDO (C) Rorheu Peseyie said that the restoration work has started and is expected to be completed within two to three days. He said that the Kohima Deputy Commissioner has already issued a travel advisory and road diversion to facilitate the restoration work.
Dzüdza Village Council Chairman Keneilekho Senotsu and Secretary T Neibu Nagi meanwhile appealed to the State Government and NHIDCL to place adequate machinery for early restoration of the road. They informed that village council members and youth have been assisting the stranded vehicles and travellers.

Earlier, Kohima DC Kumar Ramnikant had issued an order for closure of all forms of traffic, including light and heavy vehicles from 11:00 AM to 4:00 pm from August 16 to 18 in view of restoration work.
All traffic has been diverted to alternate routes- Peducha Bridge to Tsiesema (10 Mile Road) and Dzüdza bridge-Mezo Basa-Sechüma-Sechü Zubza (light vehicle only).
The commuters have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
