Two Minor Siblings Burnt Alive As House Goes Up In Flames In Kendrapara | Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, two siblings were burnt alive when a fire engulfed their house in Balarampur village under Rajnagar police limits in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Thursday morning.

The deceased were an 11-year-old girl and her 9-year-old brother.

According to reports, the fire occurred this morning when the siblings were at home while the parents had gone outside for some work. Seeing smoke billowing out of the house, locals rushed to the spot and tried to rescue the children. However, the fire had engulfed the house by then and the two siblings were burnt alive.

On being informed, Fire services personnel arrived at the spot and doused the flame after much difficulty.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. It is presumed that an LPG cylinder leak may have started the fire in the house.
