US issues advisory for its citizens asking not to travel to these states of India
The US has issued a travel advisory for its citizens, warning against travel to some regions of India like Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur and areas affected by Naxalism due to terrorism and crime.

Washington: In view of the terrorist incidents in India, the US has issued a travel advisory for its citizens. The advisory warns against travelling to Jammu and Kashmir, India-Pakistan border, Manipur and parts of central and eastern India where Naxalites are active.
The US State Department updated the advisory to include information about the northeastern states, advising citizens to exercise increased caution due to risks related to crime, terrorism and Naxalism. Although India generally holds a level two advisory, several regions are classified as level four, indicating higher risks.

Areas within 10 kilometres of India-Pakistan border are considered dangerous due to potential armed conflict. Parts of central and eastern India are affected by Naxalism and insurgency and Manipur due to violence and crime.
The US State Department said that travel to northeastern states like Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura should be reconsidered due to terrorism and violence. US government employees require special permission to travel outside the capital cities of these states.
Limited emergency services
The advisory highlights that violent crimes, including sexual harassment and rape, have taken place at tourist sites and other public places in India. It stated that terrorist attacks can happen without warning, targeting public areas such as tourist spots, markets and government buildings.
The US government has limited ability to provide emergency services to citizens in rural areas, particularly from eastern Maharashtra and northern Telangana to western West Bengal. US government employees need special approval to visit these regions.
