Panaji: The renovated Goa Bhavan in Mumbai has now been thrown open, offering enhanced facilities, including eight double-bed rooms, one VIP suite, a seven-bed male dormitory, and a three-bed female dormitory, along with other amenities. The reopening marks an upgrade in the accommodation provided to Goans visiting Mumbai.

During the assembly session, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had announced that the Goa government would soon take possession of a plot in Vashi, Mumbai, spending Rs 20 crore. Additionally, renovation work on Goa Niwas in Delhi was set to commence shortly.

In a broader effort to support Goans travelling for religious purposes, the government is also planning to construct Goa Ram Niwas, a dedicated accommodation facility in Ayodhya, on 4,000-square metre land provided by Uttar Pradesh government. The Chief Minister said that if the land is available at reasonable rates, similar accommodations will be built for Goan devotees visiting Velankanni and Pandharpur.

Furthermore, the government has plans to demolish and rebuild Goa Sadan in New Delhi to better serve the needs of Goans visiting the capital.
