Eco-Warriors Nagaland, a registered organisation committed to wildlife conservation in Nagaland, has been honoured with “The Award and Radiant National Icon Award” during the Radiant Wellness Conclave 2024 held at Taj Coromandel, Chennai on August 10 2024, marking the celebration of 25th years  of India’s victory in the Kargil War.

Eco-Warriors Nagaland was recognised for its outstanding contributions to environmental and wildlife conservation within the state. The team was represented by Lesemew M., Founder and Chairman of Eco-Warriors, who was accompanied by Meshenchu Magh. The award was presented by Dr Shashi Tharoor, Col David Devasahayam, and Dr Renuka David.

In his acceptance speech, Lesemew M dedicated the award to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War. He stated, “We have only heard and seen about the Kargil War on television, and I dedicate this award to all our soldiers who lost their lives during the conflict. This award is also for everyone who has believed in the Eco-Warriors team and those who have taken one step closer to conservation.”

The Radiant Wellness Conclave 2024, organised by the Radiant Foundation, a CSR initiative of the Radiant Group of Companies, served as a platform to honour the bravery and sacrifices of those involved in the Kargil War. Among the esteemed guests was General Ved Prakash Malik, the Chief of Army Staff during the Kargil War, who played a pivotal role in leading India to victory.

The conclave featured several key highlights, including a special tribute to Kargil War heroes, insightful sessions where veterans shared their experiences, and panel discussions on the role of women and media in the war. Distinguished speakers such as Dr Shashi Tharoor and Barkha Dutt, along with veterans and subject matter experts, shed light on the significance of the Kargil War and its lasting impact.

During the event, Captain Sanjay Kumar, a living Param Vir Chakra awardee was presented ” The Radiant National Icon Award” in recognition of his exceptional bravery and service to the nation, Captain Sanjay Kumar, a living Param Vir Chakra awardee. Later, the event concluded with the National Anthem.
