Soreng, August 10: The Women and Child Development Department, Soreng District, organized an informative awareness program on Gender Sensitization at the District Administrative Centre conference hall today.
The program was chaired by Mr. Sunny Kharel, SDM Soreng, and addressed by Prem K. Subba, SDM (HQ) Soreng, and other officials from various departments.
The program aimed to discuss the implementation and guidelines of the Hub for Empowerment of Women, One Stop Centre, Women Help Line, and Child Helpline under the Mission Shakti scheme.
Officials briefed the audience on the schemes and services, including the 181-women helpline number, One Stop Centre facilities, and Gender Sensitization.
SDM (HQ) Soreng urged committee members to engage with pertinent departments to raise awareness among women about the scheme and empower them. He also emphasized the need for effective support from different line departments.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Uttam Rai, Call Operator (WHL), expressing gratitude to all participants and emphasizing the importance of continuous social awareness to empower women in society.
