The Ziro Festival of Music is known to be among the best outdoor music events in India—not least because it takes place in the scenic lush valleys of Arunachal Pradesh. This year, the festival will take place between 26 and 29 September. Founded in 2012, the outdoor music festival spotlights India’s thriving independent music scene, with a diverse lineup of musicians, including several from the northeast of India. While the 2024 lineup hasn’t been released yet, previous lineups have included singer-songwriter Komorebi, Indian flautist Sikkil Mala Chandrasekar, guitarist and singer-songwriter Taba Chake and Shillong-based band Soulgroove. Along with musical performances, the festival also includes workshops on yoga and meditation, dance, indigenous instruments, painting and more.
