301 feat long Tiranga Kanwar reaches UP’s Muzaffarnagar; to cover 230 km across state

Muzaffarnagar: A 301 feat Tiranga Kanwar that reached Shiv Chowk in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district last evening has attracted attention among the locals. A large number of people started gathering to see the flag as the word started spreading across the district and nearby areas.

The Tiranga Kanwar is being carried by Rohit Arya and his associates from Kanta village of Baghpat district in the state. The group is carrying the Kanwar in the name of martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. They filled filled Ganga water from Har Ki Pauri in the holy city of Haridwar and left for their destination. The crowd is gathering from wherever the group is passing through with the flag.

‘Want to spread the message of Unity’

Sharing details earlier, Arya said that the group will collect water from Haridwar and reach Kanta village in Bagpat district. Pointing out that it was the seventh Kanwar Yatra of the group, he added that earlier too the group had taken a 251 feet long Kanvad. “Through our Kanvad Ytra, we want to spread the message of unity in the country. We have a team of 40 people and walk around 35 to 40 kilometeres daily. Our total Kanvad route is nearly 230 kilometres,” he added.

BJYM took out a procession with a 1 km long Tricolour

Recently, the members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) carried out a 1 km long Tricolour in Bhubaneswar to commemorate the Kargil Vijay Diwas and pay tributes to soldiers who laid down their lives fighting for the country in 1999 Kargil war.

They took out a procession carrying the Tricolour from Badheibanka Chowk near Lingaraj temple to Master Canteen Square. Addressing the gathering, state BJP president Manmohan Samal said the entire country was commemorating Kargil Vijay Diwas under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remember martyrs of the Kargil War. He added that the flag was carried out in the day to share information about the war with children or youth who were not born at the time.
