The District Education Officer of Ahmedabad has announced the closure of 25 private schools within the city due to zero enrollment of students over the past two to three years. The affected institutions include notable schools such as A-One Primary School in Satellite, HB Kapadia New Primary School (English Medium) in Memnagar and Nutan Primary School (Gujarati Medium) near Prabhat Chowk among others.
Rohit Chaudhari, Ahmedabad City DEO, confirmed the closures, saying, “These schools have had zero students for the past two to three years. Despite issuing notices and providing timeframes for the schools to explain, the lack of student presence has left us with no option but to shut down these schools,” adding, “We will proceed with the cancellation of accreditation for these schools as the next step.”AM
