Bhubaneswar: Amid an outcry from the opposition in the assembly, asking for the revelation of Odisha’s demand at the Niti Aayog meeting, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi informed the details to the legislature on Tuesday.

During his afternoon response to the general budget discussion, he outlined the demands presented by Odisha at the NITI Aayog meeting.

The CM stated that Odisha’s various concerns were addressed at the NITI Aayog meeting with the central government. A proposal to allocate 15 lakh houses to Odisha under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was made. The proposal includes 5 lakh houses in urban areas and 10 lakh in rural areas.

The meeting also assured that Odisha’s demands would be met on a priority basis. The development of the state is set to proceed under the Purvoday Yojana and Odisha will be the engine of development, the CM conveyed

Furthermore, the CM mentioned that negotiations with the central leadership have taken place regarding the settlement of the state’s pending dues. CM Majhi conveyed that assurances have been made for additional funding where needed.
